Each series of my production talks about the connections and relationships between human and nature. They arise from the events that I witness in the places that I inhabit or visit. Sometimes they are simply coexistence between both elements, other times the pieces reflect scenes of enviromental devastation caused by human activity or consequences of previous actions. I am interested in the concept of the footprint, as evidence of the natural species that currently exist, or the footprint as the passage of time on our surroundings; the gradual change of the landscape, whether due to the natural cycle it follows or due to human intervention. I often think of the footprint as a means of perpetuating the natural species that still exist through imprints, replicas, or portraits of their form, as if they were artificial fossils.
